MEMBERS GALLERYOur Members Shows always have something for everyone to enjoy. You don’t want to miss all of the stunning pieces on both floors of the Art Center, and admission is always free.
Our Members Show features works from over 100 artists from around Texas, and all works are for sale. See all the new works at Art After Dark on March 5th! This show will be up until the end of May.FEATURED ARTISTWe want to congratulate our newest Featured Artist, Sarah Holloway Smith, for March through May! Sarah resides in Houston, and is originally from Northern England. Raised by farmers, she developed a lifelong passion for nature and animals, as is reflected in her artwork.  You can see her full bio, and online show on the Exhibits page of our website.  Featured works will be on display at the Art Center through May.
Sarah’s opening reception will be during Art After Dark on March 5th, from 6-8pm.
Shown above is “Under the Sky”, Mixed Media on canvas.VIRTUAL EXHIBITSOur latest online show is celebrating not only Black History Month, but the beauty and culture of the African American community.  This show is a collection of original works by Members of the Lost Pines Art League.  The show debuted in February, but is still available to watch on our  You Tube channel and Facebook page.  Most works are for sale, so you can contact us here if you see a piece you love.   ART AFTER DARKOur next Art After Dark will be the opening reception for our new Members Show, and Featured Artist, Sarah Holloway Smith.  You can meet her in person, and see her exhibit, while enjoying free refreshments and live music with Travis Tharp.  Meet local artists and fellow art lovers for this intimate, after hours event.  All are welcome and admission is always free.FASHION SHOWThe Art Institute will host a student fashion show at the Lost Pines Art Center campus on March 16th, from 5:30-7pm (Doors open at 5).  The public is invited to view the latest creations by students of the Fashion Design program of AI.  There will be a Q&A with the designers, a studio tour and sewing demos for the public. The Art Center will transform the Mezzanine into a runway with limited seating. Admission is free.MAIN EVENTFirst Friday Art Walks, hosted by Main Event, are back after a winter hiatus!  Stroll along Main Street and visit the galleries, shops and restaurants. Mingle with local artists and musicians for an artful, authentic experience in Bastrop. 
Check out their Facebook page or Visit Bastrop for more details.YOUTH ART CLASSESTo celebrate National Youth Art Month, we are offering workshops in 2 levels for students, ages 8-17.  Instructor, Louise Placek, has put together a fascinating study of Notan art from Japan.  Images are created in black and white, sometimes in color, using reverse imagery. Youth WorkshopsTEEN ACRYLIC PAINTING Instructor, Debbie Bredemus, is a retired youth art instructor in schools, and continues her love for teaching at the Art Center.  If your teens are interested in exploring acrylic painting, this 3 day workshop will give them a great foundation.  Students will learn many aspects of color, canvas and design.  Click here to see more: Teen WorkshopART IMMERSIONArt Immersion Weekend is coming up!  We have an exciting schedule of experiences (taster classes) and workshops in the works. We are featuring the glass arts, with sessions covering glassblowing, fusing, mosaics, painting on glass, stained glass and more!  We’ll offer “resource” classes as well, like how to photograph your art work, and how to best use social media, great for all artists and business owners. 
You can learn it all, with stellar instruction from our talented and experienced instructors. We will offer sessions in all levels, from basic beginner to advanced, ages teen to adult. 
Click here for the full schedule and registration.  IMMERSIONJOINING FORCESLongtime Member, Vicky Balcou, has begun a series of projects in collaboration with Ceramicist, Jo Watts.  Their combined efforts created a unique piece with a whimsical theme.  An out of state collector took notice of Vicky’s unique cookie jar projects from the past, and commissioned a one of a kind gift.  Read their story here: Vicky and Jo~ We have gift certificates!  They are available in the office, or contact us to purchase and send online. art@lostpinesartcenter.org
~ Our hours are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, and first Saturdays of the month, 11am-5pm. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome.
