Central Texas Art Tour

 April 22nd, 11am-7pm.

First stop is the Museum and Visitor Center on Main Street.  You’ll get a warm welcome, find a map,  rack cards, and electronic information for all the art hubs in downtown Bastrop.
You’ve arrived at The Bridges Emporium, one stop, 7 art shops, 15 full-time artists tucked away in a space built in 1895. Right across the street, you’ll find some artists at the Art Institute.  In the next block, head to the R. A. Green Mercantile, built in 1890.  It houses (4) artists and several artisan business. Continue on Main.
When you hear the drums, you know you’ve arrived at Vibe Tribe, a collective of over 50 eclectic artists which are eager to show their work.
On your way to your next stop, Homespun Wisdom on Chestnut Street, notice the story of Bastrop in the bronze relief medallions  beneath your feet (masquerading as manhole covers). They were created by the local Deep in the Heart Art Foundry.  At Homespun Wisdom, you’ll see urban homesteading, fine art, handmade crafts, and yard art.
Continue enjoying the medallions as you walk to your final destination, the impressive Lost Pines Art Center. There you will experience glassblowing, art demonstrations, and galleries that represent over 200 artists. Throughout the day you’ll be listening to live local music. You’ll enjoy the hospitality of a charming historic town.
