Every aspiring (and working) artist seeks inspiration, and ways to find their creativity. Youth instructor, Debbie Bredemus, will give students a jumpstart in their creative process and help them express their artistic endeavors. Debbie will lead students in fun (and sometimes humorous) creative exercises. These exercises are called “Synectics”, which is creative problem solving, using things like analogy or taking ideas apart and putting them together in new ways. Students will create drawings each day, and will finish their piece with watercolors on the last day, to take home.
All supplies are provided, ages 13+.
**Refunds and credits will only be issued for class cancellations and postponements.
Debbie’s Story: Debbie has taught all grade levels, but teaching art to high school students became her long lasting career. She was the Art Department Head at a large school in Indianapolis, as well as an evening adjunct college professor for future secondary teachers. Debbie was an initiator, writer and teacher of the gifted program at the high school level and was a Prelude Award Indiana Arts Educator of the year. She received a nice Wal-Mart Award for education one year. She was also became a Stutz Art and Business Center (Indianapolis) artist. In her retirement, Debbie continues her life’s work and passion of inspiring young minds in Bastrop, giving them the tools they need to be fearless and prolific in their artistic journey.
