Knitting Basics

Learn basic knitting skills and techniques in this fun and engaging session with artist, Jennifer Shaw.

You’ll learn the fundamental stitches, yarn and needle types, and knitting terminology.

You will make several swatches with different stitch combinations to get your started the right way!

All ages welcome.

There will be a 30 minute lunch break.

Students may bring a lunch and use our fridge/microwave. There is also a food truck across the street, “Taqueria 95”.

Jennifer Shaw has been passionate about art in all forms since she was a young child. Her mother worked as a seamstress and taught her daughter the craft along the way. Jennifer’s career in art has spanned many mediums such as makeup, culinary, fiber arts, and a recently evolved passion for painting. She spent many years in the beauty industry designing and applying makeup for photo shoots and bridal parties. From there she started knitting, focused her artistic endeavors to fiber art full time, and opened her Etsy shop. Her shop has included knitted animals, dolls, and clothing. Last year she discovered a passion and flair for painting with acrylic and experimenting with different mediums.
