Collage Collective Workshop

Louise Placek and Shirley Bland Instructors

Join Shirley Bland and Louise Placek in this wild and wooly exploration of several collage techniques that will
give you the tools (and courage) to jump into the genre of paper collage chaos.
In the morning, Shirley will delight you with her intuitive method for fashioning people, moods, and scenes
with torn paper, acrylic paint, and markers. Her style of collage is fresh, fun, and highly entertaining to learn as
well as fascinating to look at.

In the afternoon, Louise will show you how to create organic, abstract pieces with paper cutouts, learning how
to make designs that balance color, tone, and texture. Using her stack of gel print scraps and other colorful
paper, along with acrylic paint and pens, you will only be limited by your imagination.

There will be a 30 minute lunch break, so feel free to bring a lunch and use our fridge/microwave, or you can grab a dish from Taqueria 95 across the street.

*The Art Center will open at 9am for students.

Supplies are provided for class, ages 15+ are welcome.
