The Art Center will now be open every Saturday 11am-5pm, beginning April 2nd! Bring along family and friends for a visit, and be greeted by our friendly Saturday staff. Admission is always free, and all ages are welcome.
Our Members Shows always have something for everyone to enjoy. You don’t want to miss all of the stunning pieces on both floors of the Art Center, and admission is always free.
Our Members Show features works from over 100 artists from around Texas, and all works are for sale. See all the new works at Art After Dark on April 2nd! This show will be up until the end of May.FEATURED ARTIST
Our Featured Artist, Sarah Holloway Smith, will be showing from March through May! Sarah resides in Houston, and is originally from Northern England. Raised by farmers, she developed a lifelong passion for nature and animals, as is reflected in her artwork.
Our latest online show is the last installment of our Elements of the Earth series, featuring Metal. Shine On is a collection of original works by Members of the Lost Pines Art League. This show, and our previous online shows, are available to watch on our You Tube channel and Facebook page. Most works are for sale, so you can contact us here if you see a piece you love.
ART AFTER DARK
Our next Art After Dark will feature live music from singer/songwriter, Nathan Harlan. We will be unveiling the Art Immersion Teacher’s Show, featuring works from many of our Instructors. You can also check out the Members Show and Featured Artist exhibit in the Mezzanine. Meet local artists and fellow art lovers for this intimate, after hours event. All are welcome and admission is always free.
Flamenco is back in Bastrop on April 10th! Enjoy a special performance by renowned artists in this intimate show at the Art Center. Experience the beauty and soul of Spanish and Andalusian culture. Tickets are $20 in advance/$25 at the door, and spots are limited! The event is BYOB. Click here for ticket information.
First Friday Art Walk is happening April 1st (no foolin’)!This monthly event is hosted by Main Event, and offers something for everyone to enjoy. Stroll along Main Street Bastrop and visit the galleries, shops and restaurants. Mingle with local artists and musicians for an artful, authentic experience in Bastrop.
Art Immersion Weekend is coming up! We’re offering workshops for the public in several art forms involving glass, from glassblowing and fusing, to mosaics and stained glass. Take just one class, or several. We’ll also offer “resource” classes, like how to photograph your art work, and how to best use social media; great for all artists and business owners.
YOUTH WORKSHOPS RECAP
Our Youth Workshops were a success! Instructor, Louise Placek taught the students all about Notan Art from Japan, and they had a blast! Here are photos below of some of their creations. If your kids missed this round of classes, we’ll do more sessions this summer for ages 8-17, exploring new art forms. Stay tuned!MEMBERSHIP MEETING
All Members are invited to our quarterly meeting at the Art Center, Sunday April 3rd, 2-4pm. Hear all the latest news and upcoming programs, learn more about Art Immersion workshops, and get a glassblowing studio tour! Hang out with with fellow members, and bring a snack or dessert to share, if you like.
