Application for Literature in Art

We love to promote all forms of art, including literature. For our next group show, we are combining literature and visual art, where artists can submit works that include text from, or depictions of literature (fiction, nonfiction, poems).

All artists, 2D and 3D (sculptural) are welcome to submit works for consideration. Please see guidelines below.
All styles are welcome (realism to abstract), where the focus is on literary works.

Examples:

~Artwork that contains the addition of words or phrases from literature.

~ Depictions/imagery of a novel, nonfiction work or poem, with recognizable elements in the art work. In this instance, words and phrases do not need to be included in the piece.

****Please ensure your literature choice is in the public domain (no copyright), or you have written permission from the author if the work is copyrighted, since the works will be for sale. The jury will check for this as part of the selection process.

Qualifications/Guidelines

~ Submission Fee is $10 for current LPAC Members, and $20 for all others. *This fee covers up to 3 entries per artist.

~ Deadline to submit: September 22nd at midnight.

~ Notifications to artists: September 23rd by 5pm.

~ (Accepted) Art Work drop offs: Sep. 23rd to October 2nd. (Exact times and details will be emailed to artists.

~ Works must be original to artist submitting; no prints accepted ~ except photography.

~ Framing requirements and dimensions are listed below.

~ Works must be family friendly.

~ Selections are limited, due to space. Artists will be notified of acceptance and which piece, if any.

~ Selected work must be for sale, and artist chooses price; artist receives 65% of price. (We handle fees and sales tax from buyers.)
