Exploring the Elements of Your Camera

Tired of shooting everything on Auto?  Want to see a Bluebonnet up close without the cows and fences sharp in the background? Want to explore the possibility of night photography, or sports photography with things in focus?  Well, then, this is the class for you!!

6 Classes, Every Monday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Students: Minimum of 6; Maximum of 12, Fee:  includes all classes and the opportunity to have your favorite image printed at a discounted rate.

  • Topics Included in Class Curriculum:
  • F-Stop (Aperture-A)
  • Shutter Speed (S)
  • Light
  • Exposure
  • Composition
  • Lenses, Filters & Attachments (may not be applicable to all cameras)

  • Digital Camera
  • Flash Drive or Prints for viewing images in class and for Discussion/Evaluation
  • Notebook and Pen or Pencil

Classes will begin at 2:00 p.m. sharp.  Please be here 5-10 minutes early to get settled and ready to begin.  Printed materials will be provided for each session; however, you are highly encouraged to bring a notebook for notes and ideas generated during class and photo review sessions.  You may bring no more than 6 photographs to the original class. This will help your instructor understand your interests, as well as your level of development.  You may bring these images on a flash drive that will be projected onto a television screen or neutral color wall.  If you prefer, you can bring 6 prints, at least 8 x 10, so they can be easily viewed by the instructor and students.

There are no supplies necessary other than a notebook for class notes and a digital SLR camera.
