The Lost Pines Art Center Welcomes you to join us for our 3rd Saturday Art-Getaway! This is an immersive event that allows you to get creative!! You can do so much more than enjoy the artwork on display, you can take part in you own creative masterpiece! Every month there are a variety of events, demos, music, etc to pique the artist in all of us! Admission is always free so stop on by and don’t miss a minute of the action!! “Chinese Watercolor with Mark Bray” Join resident artist Mark Bray as he shares his mastery of Asian watercolor painting. This class will allow students to create a simple watercolor piece while learning about Chinese brush painting techniques and their various meanings. Whether you are an advanced artist or a complete beginner, Indulge yourself in creativity and have a beautiful piece to take home! Admission is $25.00 and includes supplies. Ages 13 and up. “Airbrush Demo” Stop by anytime and watch artist Craig Parker demonstrate his expertise of airbrush painting in this all day demo. His subject will be a mythical dragon applied to an aluminum panel. It will be sprayed mostly freehand with some masking techniques and various methods for texture. If you are a fellow airbrush enthusiast or just curious about the process, venture to the back lawn of the art center to watch the dragon take form. “Chamber music in the Pines” We are proud to present Martha Lisle and Steve McMillan, members of the White Oak Trio in Houston, as they present Ravel’s Sonata for Violin and Cello. Their beautiful interpretations of chamber pieces have been described as a “lyric and musical revelation, performed to perfection.” Take a seat, sip some wine, and enjoy this musical journey in the Art of the Pines Gallery. “Mexican paper crafts for kids” Come explore this ancient tradition of paper arts, dating back to the Mayans and Aztecs. Simply using brightly colored tissue paper and safety scissors, kids of all ages can create and take home paper flowers and flags, using their own creativity and imagination. This activity will be led by local artists, and all supplies are included.

“Happy Hour” Stop by Blessed Bee for $3 and $4 glasses of wine from 3 to 7pm. Enjoy a full wine menu, including hand crafted mead wine. Light fare menu and pastries available all day.
